Accessibility statement
We want everyone to be able to use this site, whatever their device, browser or way of reading.
The standard we aim for
This site aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.
How the site is built
- Every page works with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline and a link to skip to the content.
- Text and its background meet the AA contrast ratios.
- Pages work from narrow phone screens up, without scrolling sideways, and text can be enlarged.
- Movement on the page switches off when your device asks for reduced motion, and the 3D floor shows a still picture instead.
- Pictures and illustrations carry text descriptions.
- The contact form works without JavaScript, and every field has a label.
What we tested
- Automated testing: every page scores 100 for accessibility in Google Lighthouse, on a mobile setting.
- Keyboard: on every page, an automated test tabs through the page and checks that the skip link comes first, that every link, button and form field can be reached, and that each one shows a visible focus indicator.
- Colour contrast: every text colour was measured against its background; the lowest ratio for body-size text is 4.5 to 1.
- Reduced motion and phone widths: every page was checked at 375 pixels wide and with reduced motion switched on.
We have not yet tested the site with a screen reader such as VoiceOver, JAWS or NVDA. We will update this statement when we have.
What we know falls short
- The 3D floor on the digital twin page is turned with a mouse or trackpad, and rooms are chosen by clicking. Its buttons work with a keyboard, but turning the floor and choosing a room do not. Each room’s reading is in the picture’s description.
- Product screens are shown as pictures. Each has a description of what it shows, but the numbers inside it can’t be read by a screen reader.
- Documents we link to on other websites, such as the ASHRAE guidelines, are not ours and may not be accessible.
